He was in the beginning with God." (John 1:1-2) The Incarnate Word. In the prologue, John presents Jesus as the eternal, preexistent, now incarnate Word and as the one-of-a-kind Son of the Father who is himself, God. "The Word continues the opening words of the prologue in Vol. 1. Became Flesh does not mean the Word ceased being God; rather, the Word, who was all of history: the eternal, omnipotent, omnipresent, infinitely holy Son of God took on a human nature and lived among humanity as one who was both God and man at the same time, in one person." (EVS) Come and join our weekly bible study on Monday nights at 7 pm. We meet at the Sprucetown United Methodist Church, 177 Upper George's Valley Road. We will study Jesus dwelling among us. He was arrested and died on the cross, for the forgiveness of our sins. "For God so loved the world, that he have his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him." (John 3:16-17) In John 14:1-4, we read that for those who believe in the power of Jesus, he prepares a place in heaven. All we need to do is confess our sins and open our hearts to allow Jesus in. Come, read, study, pray and worship Jesus the Christ with us each Monday evening. All are welcome, you do not need a background in the Bible. Come and we can study and learn together.
